Jonathan Glynn, 17,
(known as Jay in racing circles.) was thrown from his blue Citroen Saxo when it plunged down an
embankment near York at 4.50pm on Saturday 23rd September 2006.
His girlfriend of 18 months, Robyn Wishart, 15, was airlifted to hospital and is said to be stable
but critical. Her family, from Maltby Court, Colton, were today keeping vigil at the James Cook
University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Jonathan and Robyn had been travelling on the A64, near the junction with the A19 Fulford
interchange, after a day out at Flamingo Land.
Jonathan, of Templegate Road, Colton, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were
involved in the accident.
Jonathan is an apprentice mechanic and had scooped a string of awards and trophies. At the start of
this year, he was given a new bike as his 17th birthday present and aimed for the top in the 2006
Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Championship Cup.

grandson of George and Ada and Brian and Valerie. Cortege will leave from his residence on Thursday,
October 5, at 11.45 a.m., for service and cremation at Lawnswood Crematorium at 12.20 p.m., followed
by a celebration of Jay's life at the Ramada Jarvis, North Leeds, Seacroft. Family flowers only
please. Donations in memory of Jay may be given to the Chris Jones Memorial Fund, in aid of the Air
Ambulance Service, a collection box will be available at the service.

Hello my darling, you know you're always in our thougthts, every minute, every day.
It was the inquest on your accident today. They said it was accidental death due fatigue. They are
sure that you were asleep my little man and you didn't know anything about it. You'd come in late in
the early hours of the morning and only had a few hours sleep. If only you had not had to get up
early to go out - you were too tired to drive.
There was nothing wrong with your car, it was in good condition, you were driving sensibly, you
weren't going very fast - about 54mph on a 70mph road. You had had a late night, little sleep, a fun
and full day at the park and then a long drive back. You'd just fallen asleep. I hope you were still
asleep when the accident happened because then you're last thoughts would have been about you're
happy day out and not of those last few minutes. It wasn't your fault babe, just a tragic accident.
We love you and we're missing you so much Jay, stay close and let me know you're OK and having fun
with Chris, Ashley, Jonathan, Carl and all your other new friends. Hope you're showing them how to
mix those basslines.

its been a week mate, and it it feels like a lifetime. this week had dragged so much, its never gonna be the same again without you, i keep expecting you to come flying round the corner with the basslines up, laughing saying "my exhausts fallen off again" as you did about 5 times lol.
i hope your enjoyin it up there fella, and causin havoc onthe sreets.
il see you when my time comes mate, and then we can cruise like the good times.

1 week on....
... and it's becoming more difficult by the hour. We've been to see you today, you were sleeping so peacefully. I gave you all my kisses for you to save, for when you want them.
It was this time 1 week ago when you had that terribly accident. I'm sat here with tears in my eyes and a broken heart, trying to make some sense of it all.
But I don't want you to worry about us my darling, you left us with lots of fantastic memories of all the things we did together and I know we'll help each other through this, knowing your close-by. You race them clouds my boy and play those basslines loud - just the way you like it - True Jay style!!
Robyn is on the slow journey to recovery but I know you're watching over her too and she'll be OK.

Hope ya enjoyed the good times we all had together with you. never a dull moment when you were about. the first time i saw you in your shiney saxo, was when you over took me, and out did my astra. I was so mad, but found it funny. lol.
I gotta say mate, sharin that pizza wi ya. An then, as u were about to take Robyn home, C.I.D crashed into the lampost outside Pizza Hut. Great times.
Your gonna be missed mate. I know. Were all flying the flag for ya down here.

I hadn't really known you that long but from the time i have known you i know you were a great lad who was always up for a laugh, you never stressed and you always had that devious smirk keepng everybody thinking what you could do next to impress!
Was only last week we were cruising through Headingley for freshers week and you pulled up looking smart through the window with your shirt on, but then you stepped out with the old trackies and trainers but you didnt care, even though you made us all laugh at your expense!
